Marubi Biotech is a listed company on the A-share main board, a national high-tech enterprise in China, a well-known Chinese trademark enterprise, one of the Top 500 Most Valuable Brands in China, and among the Top 100 Global Beauty Brands.

Founded in 2002, Marubi is focused on research in eye care and biological anti-aging, and for eight consecutive years, it has been recognized as the TOP1 anti-aging brand in the Chinese cosmetics sub-brand rankings. With research and development powerhouses in Guangzhou, Tokyo, and Shanghai, and twelve major research platforms, Marubi is dedicated to developing high-quality products based on globally leading technology.

On July 25, 2019, Marubi’s shares were officially listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s main board, with the stock code 603983.

The company owns four major brands: “MARUBI,” “PASSIONAL LOVER,” “CHUNJI,” and “Marubi Tokyo.” MARUBI is known in the cosmetics industry for its exceptional eye care and has a specialized eye skin research center. It boasts over 1000 department store counters and more than 15000 boutique franchise stores across China.

For over a decade, Marubi has focused on eye skin care research and the development of high-quality eye creams, establishing itself as China’s leading brand in eye cream sales.

Marubi also launched its ace product in Paris – the fourth-generation Elastin Firming Eye Essence, which incorporates advanced materials from nine countries and includes seven patented ingredients. Committed to the philosophy of “Using the world’s best to create China’s best,” Marubi has introduced many revolutionary products.

Since its inception in 2002, Marubi has focused on the field of “eye skin care.” At the end of the last century, China’s skincare market was still in its infancy, but Marubi made significant strides through international collaboration in technological research and innovation. From the original four “Cell Activity Crystal Series” eye products to winning multiple beauty awards the following year with its eye cell repair technology, and then launching eye sunscreen in 2004, becoming the first product in the Chinese market to receive a special cosmetic product license, Marubi has repeatedly highlighted its technical strength in eye care.

In 2007, with the release of Marubi’s Elastin Eye Essence, a trend of “bounce away crow’s feet” swept across China, enlightening many Chinese women about eye care and making the Elastin series Marubi’s most popular product line.

In 2012, Marubi launched five new products under the “Eye Care Master” series, offering targeted care day and night, raising the bar for eye care technology.

In 2013, L Capital, a fund under the world’s largest luxury group LVMH, made a strategic investment in Marubi, becoming its second-largest shareholder. Leveraging LVMH’s abundant global resources and international perspective, Marubi’s brand was further enhanced with a world-class luxurious charm.

“L Capital Asia appreciates Marubi’s long-standing mid-to-high-end positioning and steady growth over the years, and we are very optimistic about Marubi’s future development and growth,” said Mr. Ravi Thakran, Managing Partner of L Capital Asia and President of LVMH South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Middle East, at the press conference.

This cooperation covers eight major aspects: product development, appearance design, advertising and public relations, marketing, retail management, team building, global marketing, and investment and mergers and acquisitions. This is L Capital Asia’s first investment in a cosmetics company in China.

At the strategic investment press conference, Marubi’s CEO, Sun Huaiqing, presented a specially commissioned porcelain piece named “Twin Dragons Playing with a Pearl” from Jingdezhen to Mr. Ravi Thakran of L Capital Asia, symbolizing a win-win cooperation. Ravi Thakran, who is well-versed in Chinese culture, reciprocated with an exquisite crystal sailboat, wishing their cooperation smooth sailing.

In June 2014, the highly anticipated ninth “China’s 500 Most Valuable Brands” list was released, with Marubi entering the Top 500 Most Valuable Brands in China, leading the skincare industry, and ranking in the top three in the daily chemical industry, further solidifying its status as the number one brand in Chinese eye care.

That same year, Marubi was again ranked among the Top 100 in the “2014 Beauty’s 100 Top” list published by the renowned American fashion media “Women’s Wear Daily,” marking its consecutive recognition following 2013.
