LEADING IDEAL Automobile is a Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer, specializing in the design, research, development, manufacturing, and sales of luxury intelligent electric vehicles. It was founded in July 2015 and is headquartered in Beijing, China. Through product innovation and technological research and development, it provides safe and convenient products and services for household users. Its founder, Li Xiang, is a well-known serial entrepreneur in China, who previously founded Autohome, the world’s largest automotive website. LEADING IDEAL Automobile was officially listed on the NASDAQ stock market in the United States on July 30, 2020, under the ticker symbol ‘LI.’

LEADING IDEAL Automobile’s first product is the LEADING IDEAL ONE, which was launched in October 2018. It is an intelligent electric midsize SUV, equipped with cutting-edge range-extender technology and smart features, offering comfortable seating for six passengers. In 2020, the LEADING IDEAL ONE became the best-selling new energy SUV in China and also claimed the top spot for Chinese vehicle models priced above 300,000 RMB. As of the end of June 2022, LEADING IDEAL ONE has delivered a total of 184,491 units. On June 21, 2022, LEADING IDEAL Automobile officially launched the LEADING IDEAL L9, a flagship intelligent SUV for families.

In 2022, LEADING IDEAL Automobile introduced two new models, the six-seat flagship SUV LEADING IDEAL L9 in August and the six-seat luxury SUV LEADING IDEAL L8 in November, both of which commenced deliveries. LEADING IDEAL L8 has maintained strong sales in the six-seat SUV market, while LEADING IDEAL L9 has consistently ranked as the monthly best-selling large SUV since its delivery. In February 2023, LEADING IDEAL Automobile released the family-oriented five-seat flagship SUV LEADING IDEAL L7, achieving over 10,000 deliveries in its first full month, becoming the first Chinese brand to achieve over 10,000 monthly deliveries for a five-seat SUV priced above 300,000 RMB. With strong delivery figures, LEADING IDEAL Automobile entered the top three in China’s new energy brand sales above 200,000 RMB in the first quarter of 2023, with a market share of approximately 11%.

As of April 30, 2023, LEADING IDEAL Automobile has 302 retail centers across China, covering 123 cities, as well as 318 after-sales service and authorized body repair centers, spanning 222 cities.

LEADING IDEAL Automobile designs, researches, develops, manufactures, and sells luxury intelligent electric vehicles with a mission to create mobile homes and happy families. Through innovation in products, technology, and business models, LEADING IDEAL Automobile provides safe, convenient, and comfortable products and services for household users. Mass production of LEADING IDEAL vehicles began in November 2019. The vehicle lineup includes the LEADING IDEAL L9, a six-seat flagship family SUV; LEADING IDEAL L8 and LEADING IDEAL ONE, both six-seat luxury SUVs; and LEADING IDEAL L7, a five-seat flagship family SUV. LEADING IDEAL Automobile leverages technology to create value for users. The company’s independent research and development efforts focus on its unique range-extender system, next-generation electric vehicle technology, and intelligent automotive solutions. It also plans to introduce more pure electric and range-extender electric vehicles to expand its product lineup and reach a broader user base.

In China, LEADING IDEAL Automobile has pioneered the commercialization of range-extender electric vehicles. The first and currently only commercialized range-extender electric vehicle model, LEADING IDEAL ONE, is a midsize luxury electric SUV equipped with a range-extender system and advanced intelligent automotive solutions. It began mass production in November 2019 and introduced the 2021 model in May 2021. On July 1, 2022, LEADING IDEAL Automobile announced its June 2022 delivery data. In June 2022, the company delivered 13,024 units of LEADING IDEAL ONE, a 68.9% year-on-year increase compared to June 2021. Cumulative deliveries reached 28,687 units in the second quarter, a 63.2% year-on-year increase compared to the second quarter of 2021. As of now, LEADING IDEAL ONE has delivered a total of 184,491 units.

At the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show, LEADING IDEAL Automobile introduced its “Dual-Power Strategy,” focusing on both “Smart” and “Electric” aspects. In terms of “Smart,” the LEADING IDEAL AD Max 3.0’s urban NOA navigation-assisted driving feature will be rolled out in the second quarter and aims to cover 100 cities by the end of the year. Regarding “Electric,” LEADING IDEAL Automobile launched an 800V supercharging pure electric solution, entering the parallel stage of range-extender electric and high-voltage pure electric vehicles.

By 2025, LEADING IDEAL Automobile aims to establish a product portfolio consisting of ‘1 flagship model + 5 range-extender electric models + 5 high-voltage pure electric models,’ targeting the market above 200,000 RMB, fully meeting the needs of household users.

By the end of May 2023, the first batch of 25 LEADING IDEAL 4C supercharging stations will begin trial operations. LEADING IDEAL 4C supercharging stations will be open to all new energy vehicle models, and the supercharging network will be rapidly expanded over the next three years. By the end of 2023, LEADING IDEAL Automobile aims to build more than 300 high-speed supercharging stations, covering 70% of the high-speed mileage in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Greater Bay Area, and Chengdu-Chongqing economic belts, as well as 40% of national highways. In 2025, the goal is to establish over 3,000 charging stations, covering 90% of national highways and major cities across the country.”
